Kindergarten Information Meetings

Parents, guardians, and preschool providers:   You are invited to attend a Kindergarten Information Meeting at your neighborhood school** to find out about the registration timeline and procedures for enrolling your child in kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year.  An overview will be presented on how our kindergarten programs will successfully start your child's educational experience and meet your child's needs.  Please join us to find out about the high-quality kindergarten programs awaiting your child!

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration packets will be available at the Kindergarten Information Meetings on February 13 (February 19 at Twin Oaks).  Packets will also be available in the school offices starting February 14 (February 20 at Twin Oaks) .

Completed registration packets for the 2013-14 school year will be accepted in the school offices beginning the day after the Information Meeting.  Packets are to be turned in at your neighborhood school.  Please contact your neighborhood school for office hours.

Requirements for entering Kindergarten for the 2013-14 school year:

  • Child must be 5 years old by October 1, 2013 per Education Code 48000.
  • Parent must provide certification of birth (original birth certificate, passport, or properly notarized affidavit of birth registration from the State Department of Public Health).
  • Parent is required to provide proof of residence (e.g., current utility bill or notarized escrow papers).
  • California law requires that each child entering school for the first time present evidence of being fully immunized against Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTP); Polio; Hepatitis B; Mumps, Measles and Rubella (MMR); and Chicken Pox (Varicella). No child will be permitted to attend school in the Rocklin Unified School District unless a documented, up-to-date immunization record of required immunizations is submitted to the school.
  • California law requires that your child have an oral health assessment by May 31 of his/her first year of public school.
  • The District also recommends that each entering student have a physical examination, as correction of physical problems plays a crucial part in a child’s successful school experience.

Foundations for Success Program (FSP) Registration

Requirements for entering Foundations for Success (FSP)  for the 2013-14 school year:

  • Child must be 5 years old by December 2, 2013 to attend FSP Kindergarten per Education Code 48000
  • Children of kindergarten age may attend FSP Kindergarten on a space available basis only.
  • Other than the age requirement, all other requirements for entering FSP Kindergarten are the same (see above.)

Registration packets for Foundations for Success (FSP)  will be available at the February 13 (February 19 at Twin Oaks) and February 21 information meetings, as well as your home school office on February 14 (February 20 at Twin Oaks).  Return FSP registration packets to the Rock Creek Elementary School office.

During the summer months beginning on June 13, 2013, registration packets will be available online or at the Rocklin Unified District Office at 2615 Sierra Meadows Drive from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  To print the registration packet, click here.
