The first thing you will need to do when you have selected this project is print out a copy of the STATE QUARTERS PROCEDURE.  Also look over the GRADE RUBRIC so that you will know what you will be graded on before you begin. You will need a quarter that matches your state and painting and clear coating are required to get a “perfect” score. You can print it when you are done with your project and ready for your grade.  Print the patterns of the states you want to make.  The limit for credit is four or 100 points. You can make more if you want.  Not all patterns have been created.  See the teacher if you want to help trace a missing pattern so we can scan it in and post it for others to use.

SEE THE CHART BELOW FOR LINKS TO THE PATTERNS FOR THE STATES.

You will definitely want to study the SCROLL SAW SAFETY RULES and complete the SCROLL SAW WORKSHEET.  You must know the names of the SCROLL SAW PARTS, they are on the test and worksheet.  Pass the SCROLL SAW SAFETY TEST and then you can use the scroll saw to cut out the states.  This will make the project a breeze!
